A Love Letter to Sublime Internet

When I first signed up for Sublime a couple of days ago, it was out of general curiosity for new capturing and PKM tools. I tend to get hyped pretty quickly, and if you offer lifetime deals, that is my weak spot, so I had to sign up to test all the bells and whistles.

Soon thereafter, I started to beat myself up for spending money on a tool whose purpose is uncertain just to be able to use it indefinitely without ongoing costs. I even started to consider asking for a refund because I felt bad spending the money. It also drives a sort of anxiousness to have yet another tool that sits between at least two other tools that serve a similar purpose.

However, I started using it over the last two days and I have to confess, this really feels like magic. I would never have thought that having a community and an algorithm that matches thoughts captured by other community members would feel this magical. I can’t put it differently. It really is that feeling of not being alone and exploring together. For the first time in a very long time, the internet feels social again, and I’m feeling like I’m contributing to this web of ideas and profiting from all you other people contributing to it.

I’m really very excited about where this is going to take us all, and I’m happy to be a part of it 🤍
